I’m the founder of Bakes by Hester (clue’s in the name!), and I’ve been creating bespoke cakes and cupcakes for all occasions since 2017.

My passion for baking began long before that, when I was 15 (inspired by Georgetown Cupcake in the US), when I started supplying my friends with endless cupcakes and cookies with varying degrees of deliciousness. As my reputation as the schoolyard baker grew, people started to ask me to make cakes for them.

Initially, it was just a bit of fun and gave me a chance to make people’s day by sharing my latest bakes, but as my skill level (and desire to feed people!) has grown, I’ve started to take it more seriously…

In 2017, Cupcakes by Hester was born, where I was supplying solely cupcakes (hence the name!). Over time, I started creating larger and tiered buttercream cakes for weddings, birthdays, baby showers, christenings, and more. I love helping my customers bring their vision to life through the means of cake!

In January 2021, I added a new wing to my business and launched my postal Brownie Boxes, which are letterbox friendly and can be shipped anywhere in the UK! Brownies by post make for the perfect gift for a friend or loved one, or for yourself just because! I offer an Original Brownie Box which includes salted caramel, white choc chip, chocolate orange and salted caramel. Keep your eyes peeled for added seasonal boxes throughout the year!

At Bakes by Hester, we believe that while the final aesthetics of a product are key; taste, texture and flavour should never be compromised. Each bake is made to order, using high quality, fresh ingredients.
